Overview

The DFRobot Arduino infrared distance sensor is a compact, low-cost proximity sensor with an adjustable detection range of 10 to 80 cm. It is designed for simple integration with Arduino-based projects and quick prototyping.

Because it uses infrared sensing, it is well suited to indoor applications such as robotics, wall detection, and trigger-based automation. Performance can be affected by strong sunlight and reflective surfaces, so outdoor use is not ideal in those conditions.

The sensor includes an adjustable screw on the back for tuning its detection range, and its small round form factor makes it easy to mount in custom builds. It uses a Gravity interface for plug-and-play connection.
