Overview

The DFRobot Insectbot Hexa is a DIY six-legged walking robot kit built around Arduino and Bluetooth 4.0. It is designed for beginners, classroom use, workshops, and hands-on weekend projects.

This second-generation Insectbot is larger and heavier than earlier versions, and it uses three 9g micro servos plus battery power to support its walking motion. The updated control code is intended to improve movement and obstacle avoidance while still remaining approachable for new users.

The kit is based on the Bluno Beetle / Beetle BLE controller depending on version, and it supports Arduino-style programming as well as graphical programming with Ardublock. Assembly materials are included, but some tools are needed separately.
