Master Home Automation with Gravity Infrared Motion Sensor – Puma Robot

Master Home Automation with Gravity Infrared Motion Sensor

Overview

The DFRobot Gravity Digital Infrared Motion Sensor is a simple 5V PIR module for Arduino and similar projects. It is designed to detect movement from people, pets, or other warm objects and can be used to trigger lights, alarms, props, and basic automation tasks.

After power-up, the sensor needs about 1 to 2 seconds to capture the still environment. Once it is ready, movement within its sensing area can make the alarm output go low. The detection delay can be adjusted with the onboard potentiometer.

This sensor is compatible with Gravity plug-and-play connections, and the source material notes that it can also work at 3.3V, which may make it suitable for platforms such as Raspberry Pi and some Intel boards. It is commonly used for motion-activated lighting, security experiments, and other simple trigger-based projects.
